SAINT PAUL AND PACIFIC RAILROAD LOCOMOTIVE C1879 PHOTO Magic Lantern Slide USA. A rare early image titled in French " train sur le pacifique " translating " pacific train ". In photo 2 the wording " Div St P & P R " is visible on the side of the coach. Dated to 1879 as this is when the Saint Paul and Pacific Railway ceased operating however these French commercially produced slides are in my experience earlier, for example I have listed in the past one showing the results of the 1870 fire of Pera, Istanbul. The slide is approximately 8.2cm X 8.2cm or in inches 3.23" X 3.23".
